Carbon offsetting available now

Athletes, coaches, family, officials and the media alike are encouraged to
consider the opportunity to reduce the environmental impact of the World
Championship through offsetting their unavoidable emissions caused by their
travel to and from Budapest.  Through the Green Triathlon®, Co2ntra
partnership, we help those concerned by the protection of our environment
determine the amount of their carbon-dioxide emissions and provide a fast,
simple and effective way to become carbon neutral. For offsetting emissions,
Co2ntra uses CER units audited and certified by the UN Clean Development
Mechanism.  If only half the athletes offset their carbon footprint caused
by their travel to the Grand Final in Budapest, 7000 tons of CO2 emissions
would be offset, which has the equivalent environmental impact of taking
over 1300 cars off the road for one year, or recycling 34 286 000 aluminum
cans.
