Last year almost 8000 runners took part in the half marathon (including the relay for two runners and the fun run distances), with more than 1000 international runners from 40 different countries. The race is similar to a marathon race with its nice atmosphere, relay, fun run, the same precise organization, and the beautiful medal for each finisher.
The nice atmosphere and the friendliness of the race is further enhanced by street musicians along the course. The course is wide and flat so this is perfect to break one’s personal record as well. The registration fee contains an entry fee to the famous Széchenyi thermal bath after the race.
Running through the world heritage site of Andrássy Street and along the Danube riverside that divides the city in two parts gives an unforgettable experience for all runners. Spectators are evenly spread out along the course but slightly thin on the ground, so if you are more turned on by a fantastic view and by running a fast race, this is your event.

15. EDF Night Run
11th September 2010
Say good-bye to the summer with running!
Run at night and enjoy the beautifully lit streets of Budapest! Run through the Chain Bridge, the Tunnel and on the Danube Embankment. What a special way to say good bye to the summer of 2010!

It is not an everyday event to run on the beautifully lit streets of the capital where there are several thousand cars even during the night. One does not have the chance too often to jog freely through the Chain Bridge, the Tunnel or on the embankment of the Danube. However, it is different on the 11th of September: on the day of the 15. EDF Night Run, when this is all possible!
Everybody who wishes to be part of a special sports event should try the night run with a unique atmosphere! Even the start location is a unique one! The participants gather in the vicinity of the beautifully lit Chain Bridge to start at the last sounds of fireworks saying good-bye to the summer and start the winding 6,5 km race. During the run participants can view sights such as the Tunnel clean and free of cars, the Buda Castle or the night lights glittering on the waves of the Danube. These circumstances provide for the real magic of the night run and help runners begin the autumn with a joint run and a pleasant atmosphere. What a special way to say good bye to the summer of 2010!
